Additional Media
Video tribute to our 2020 Spring athletes.
After COVID-19 hit I felt that I had to do something for our student athletes to show how much they mean to us and how grateful that the senior chose to make a home at Manhattanville. I took all of the drone and practice footage in this video except the baseball footage. I then took all of the media and created it in Adobe Premiere.
Facility Footage
I took all of the outdoor footage, the indoor footage was taken by someone else but I was the one to edit it all together. I created both in Premiere Pro.

Men’s Basketball Wins AJ Classic First Round in OT
PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's basketball team won its 2019-20 home opener against Wesley College today, Nov. 22. The Valiants defeated the Wolverines 82-75 in overtime in the first round of the 7th Annual A.J. Buchanan Classic. Sophomore Jake Dunn (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) and senior JoJo Cobbs (Elmsford, N.Y./Briarcliff) led Manhattanville in points notching 18 each. Dunn also led the team in steals totaling two, as Cobbs had the most blocks with two as well.
Cobbs started the night off right after receiving a pass from sophomore Chris Brown (Miami, Fla./Coral Gables Senior) and then nailing a three. The Wolverines (2-4) fired back with six points until Cobbs answered with a layup, bringing the Valiants (2-0) within one. Sophomore Petey Galgano (New Rochelle, N.Y./Wilbraham & Monson Academy (Mass.)) had the next two baskets for the Valiants, nailing a three and a layup. Galgano finished the first half with five points and one assist.
The score was tied five separate times throughout the first half and the Valiants never trailed by more than five points. When the Wolverines were up 20-15, freshman Khari Taylor (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond) notched a layup and sophomore Matt Bielenda (Wethersfield, Conn./Xavier) sank a three to tie it up. Both of those baskets were assisted by freshman Ed Minaya (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac).
The Crimson and White took the final lead of the first half after Minaya's free throw was good and pulled the Valiants ahead 26-25. From then on it was still a tight game as baskets were made one after another. Junior Mike Granda (Monroe Township, N.J./St. Joseph) had two assists and four points before halftime and climbed his way to 15 points by the end of the game. Taylor was fouled in the remaining 45 seconds of the half and was given two free throw opportunities. He made the first and missed the second finalizing the score 37-33 at the half in Manhattanville's favor.
After a couple missed shots by the Valiants in the first few minutes of the second half, Wolverine Brian Cameron made a jump shot in the paint. Cameron tallied 20 points in the first half and totaled 43 of the 75 points Wesley scored. Minutes later, Cobbs banked a layup and Dunn hit a three on the break to put the Valiants ahead by seven. Brown picked up six rebounds in 15 minutes playing a key role in Manhattanville's defense.
Eight three-pointers were made by the Valiants in the second half. Dunn led with three, Minaya had two while Granda, Cobbs and freshman Tommy Lotito (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) each sank one. Manhattanville had the lead in the last two minutes of the half. They were up 71-67 when they started to foul Wesley and gave up four free throws. The Wolverines were able to make all four, tied the game and sent it into overtime.
Wesley took a four-point lead in the first two minutes but lost it when Dunn hit a layup and Granda made a three. Granda put Manhattanville up by one and they kept the lead from then on. After that, Cobbs, Granda and Dunn were the only Valiants to score for the remainder of overtime.
Manhattanville will play in the championship game of the AJ Classic tomorrow, Nov. 23, at 4:00 pm. They will face the Trinity College Bantams in Kennedy Gymnasium.
