Beyond whom I am in the office, I am a very active and passionate person in everything I do. I take pride in what I do whether that is work or life related.
I grew up in Brewster, NY surrounded by the love of many friends and family that helped shape the person I am today. Besides dedicating my time to them, I focused on my starter jobs but more importantly the youth programs in my town. The sports and coaches I had growing up taught me extraordinary skills but more importantly life lessons. Seeing that, I wanted to return the favor, I wanted to be what I always looked up to for someone else.
I took that same drive and brought it to college in 2014. At Roger Williams University I walked onto the lacrosse team as a freshman, it was challenging at first, but teammates guided me through the process. After my first year I saw how people helped me and I knew how to help others that followed me. Every year varies so with every year I grew more knowledge to help mentor those younger.
I recognized what I was interested in prior to college but didn't know how passionate I was about them until I developed. Once I left the field and graduated from Roger Williams I took a job in New York City. That job taught me how much I loved working in and with sports and it made me realize that I needed to fight to get back into that culture.
While working at Initiative as a video partnership associate for Subaru of America, I reached out to the creative media and production department at Army West Point Athletics to see if I can join their weekend crew. And just like that I was inching my way to working in the sports industry once again.
I made my first highlight video on a GoPro in 2015 for a lacrosse camp and all of the parents and children treasured it. I saw how much a quick 3-minute video impacted a group of people and from there I was hooked. To me posting on social media has a bigger meaning behind it. It's a story with a meaning that needs to be shared. Not just for impressions, but for informational and emotional value that keeps our fans attached to our brand. I have been working every day since 2015 to improve my videography, editing, photography, design and other skills to promote my brand to the best of its ability on social media channels.
To go from a making a video on a GoPro for a lacrosse camp to being trusted at West Point by the production team was a sign of reassurance that my skills improved over the years. However, I am not done, I did not and will not stop here.
In 2019, I joined Manhattanville College as an assistant director of athletic communications and I also started my master's degree in sports business and event management. I never want to stop learning about my industry and myself, so this was a perfect fit for me to work full time in sports communications.
Now I am searching to continue the love of promoting sports, ideas and products I am passionate about. Great satisfaction is brought to myself when I can see the success and growth in the services and products I have marketed. I am excited to kick off the next adventure my life and see where I land.
